Aria University, an accredited institution located in Milpitas, California, is embarking on a bold and innovative academic initiative to establish a medical school in the San Joaquin Valley. This initiative aims to educate and train a diverse workforce of physicians and develop innovative health care delivery programs that will improve the health of populations in medically underserved areas of the San Joaquin Valley. This funding and collaboration proposal seeks to raise $67 million over five years to support the Aria University School of Medicine initiative of addressing the community’s medical needs at a regional level.

The University’s School of Medicine seeks to address health care needs by serving as a hub for expanding medical services, by training physicians who may specialize and subsequently practice in the region or state, and by building a culturally competent and diverse physician workforce. To meet the anticipated need for health care providers, Aria University School of Medicine plans to create state-of-the-art medical programs and collaborate with regional partners to deliver healthcare services to areas throughout the San Joaquin Valley. The university projects that by 2032, its medical school will have enrolled 520 students. Additionally, the School of medicine is expected to contribute approximately $200 million in direct, indirect, and induced contributions to the San Joaquin Valley local economy by fiscal year 2032-33.
